Q: What is the typical wedding photography timeline?
9-12 months before, bookings: Congratulations on your engagement! First you will start by setting a date and booking a venue. Once you have a set date, contact our studio to check on our availability.
6-8 months before, engagement session: Your engagement shoot is a 2 hour session at an outdoor location of your choosing in Grand Rapids, or in our 1600 square foot studio. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your photographer and to become more comfortable in front of the camera.
1 month before, consultation: Before your wedding day you will work with our studio manager or photographer on the details of your wedding. We want to do everything possible to make your wedding unique and work with you on how your story captured.
Wedding day: We've got everything covered, enjoy the day!
2-4 weeks after, photographs: You will receive a link and passcode for your online proofing site. This will allow you to review all of your images as well as order prints.
6 weeks after: album: We will customize an album design for you. This draft is the starting point on a collaborative process to make a book you will cherish for the rest of your life.
3-6 months after: album approval, delivery: After you have received your draft, we will work with you to perfect the design. After all edits are made, your album will be printed and bound and shipped to you within 6 months of your wedding.
1 year anniversary: Happy Anniversary! We will send you a disk of your wedding and engagement images in high resolution jpeg form.
Q: What kind of style do you use?We use a photojournalist shooting style for all of your wedding. We watch your story unfold and capture the quiet moments, stunning details, unique personalities, and the couple of course. We won't run your wedding or ruin it with long set-ups or stiff poses. Above all, we never harass your guests with posed table shots. We get the classic shots you seek in a fresh way.
Q: What kind of coverage is needed? The amount you need depends on your schedule and the events of the day. We recommend a minimum of 8 hours of coverage to ensure that we capture the flow of the day in true photojournalistic style.
Q: How many photographers do I need?We can not emphasis enough having a 2nd photographer if you have 100 guests or more. Weddings are celebratory and spontaneous, truly memorable events happen simultaneously in different places. A 2nd photographer offers another perspective and more comprehensive coverage.
Q: What are your rates?Investments for photography typically start at $3500 and go up to $6000, but ultimately reflect your needs.
Q: Do you make other kinds of photographs? We do. You can visit our commercial site, www.adambirdphoto.com for examples of other work.
Q: Will we meet before the wedding? Please call our studio and schedule a time to visit. If you're not able to come to Grand Rapids, we can schedule a video conference or telephone call to arrange your details for you.
